PRECISION RIFLE TRAINING 1
JUNE 16-JUNE 17, 2024
Precision Rifle 1 is an introductory to intermediate course from Bruiser Industries, designed for the student who has little to no formalized training as well as a more experienced shooter looking to refresh or hone their skills. We will give you a solid foundation with which to continue improving your skills with advanced training or self guided practice.
Mandatory gear check June 13th at Stockpile Defense from 1600-1800.
Prerequisites:
Since this is an entry to intermediate level course, the only required skills are safe weapons handling skills and the desire to learn and improve.
What You’ll Learn from Bruiser Industries:
- Basic shooting positions & the importance of natural and artificial support
- How optics function both externally and internally
- Internal, external & terminal ballistics
- Precision rifle nomenclature & set-up
- Proper rifle maintenance & care
- Rifle/ scope manipulation to include, loading, unloading, scope adjustment for elevation and wind.
- Wind reading and adjustment at distance
- Zeroing procedures & the effects of the environment of your zero
- Shooter/ Spotter interaction and terminology
Required Equipment:
- 300-400 rounds of quality Match ammunition
- A properly mounted magnified optic (scope level highly recommended)
- A quality precision rifle (bolt or semi automatic) of at least 5.56/.223 caliber equipped with a sling & a bipod (.338 is largest allowable — please verify with us first since there is considerations for steel)
- Medium-sized backpack filled with a sufficient amount of clothing etc. to serve as a shooting rest/support
- Note-taking material
- Rifle cleaning equipment
- Shooting mat & rear support bag
- Water, food, clothing, sunscreen, etc. (as needed to maintain comfort)
Recommended Gear:
- Laser range finder
- Shooting tripod
- Spotting scope or binoculars
- Wind meter
