Meant to do this the day after class but didn’t. I know I’m a disappointment but Paul and Stephen were far from. The class was great. It’s hard to believe you would get so much one on one with the instructors with a class of 18 people and 2 instructors but, they make it happen. You can tell they truly want to make you better and not just collect a paycheck. From getting everyone zeroed, finding the height over bore, to transitions and longer range work, it was a great class. Oh and you can forget them cakes. Thanks Paul, Stephen, and the Stockpile team for making this happen.

Paul and Stephen are both great instructors that do a great job teaching over two days. Both will watch and help dial in your technique or help you learn the basics through multiple drills. They understand you are there to learn to shoot better and have a good time and that’s what they focus on. Highly recommend this class if u are new to rifle shooting or if you want to fine tune your rifle capabilities. They adjust to the student which makes you feel involved in every drill and not wasting ammo just to shoot.

If you bought a rifle and don’t have much experience with it, take this class!

I attended the June 2023 Carbine 1 course and it completely exceeded my expectations. I was worried it would be a basic firearms training class for ARS … heres your charging handle, here is your bolt, breathe squeeeze, and very slow paced — I was completely wrong. This class breezed over the basics in just a few minutes and started packing in quality shooting fundamentals for 2 days straight. I shot more rounds through my AR than I have in years in 2 days, and at the end of the second day was shooting my AR15 more than twice as fast (and accurately) than I did on the morning of the first day. Paul and Stephen are excellent instructors that focused not on gear, not on tactics, but primarily on fundamentals for shooting an AR style rifle accurately and FAST. The class clearly highlighted my deficiencies around handling the magazine, shooting while moving, and even simple things like my holds at closer ranges, and how my sling setup was hindering my shooting. Both instructors were great about keeping the course moving at a fast pace but also making sure you got individual instruction when you were struggling with certain drills. The day after this course I immediately signed up for the Pace Pistol courses and will absolutely be taking the carbine 2 course. For $400 these courses are a bargain and I imagine once the treasure valley realizes how lucky we are to have Paul and Stephen in the area they won’t stay that cheap for long.
